Built from your product and your defects, not from a template

We begin with sample collection — gathering images across defect categories that your quality staff help us define. The samples need to represent the range of what you see in production, including items that are borderline, not just clear examples of pass and fail. This takes time and care, and it shapes everything that follows.

Thresholds are not set by us alone. We discuss with your quality staff what detection rate is needed for each defect category, and we talk about the cost of a false positive — sending a good item for review — against the cost of a miss. Those conversations determine where the thresholds sit.

Integration into your current reject handling is part of the build phase. When the system flags an item, it enters your existing process — your team handles it the same way they currently handle a flagged item from a manual check.

Weeks 1–3

Sample collection

We collect images across your defect categories with your quality team's guidance. Borderline items receive particular attention — these are where calibration matters most.

Weeks 4–6

Configuration

We configure the checking layer and discuss threshold placement with your team. Detection rates by category are tested against the sample set before moving to live production.

Weeks 7–11

Trial period

The image-based layer runs alongside your manual check. We measure detection rates across categories and adjust thresholds where results diverge from agreed targets.

Week 12

Handover

Final detection rates reported by category, escalation paths confirmed, documentation completed. Your team understands how to adjust thresholds and interpret system output.

Pricing

A fixed price that covers the full twelve weeks

This service is priced at ¥43,000 for the complete engagement — sample collection, configuration, trial period, and handover. The price is agreed at the outset and does not change as the project progresses, provided the scope remains as defined.

Camera hardware is not included in the engagement cost. Before the project begins, we'll discuss what equipment is needed and what you already have in place. If hardware needs to be sourced, that happens separately and is not marked up by us.

If phased payment across the twelve weeks suits your organisation better, that is a conversation we're open to having early in the process.

How we measure results

Detection rates reported by category, not in aggregate

A single overall detection rate figure can obscure important differences between defect types. A scratch and a dimensional variance may both be defects, but the consequences of missing one may be quite different from missing the other.

We report by category throughout the trial period, which means you can see where the system performs well and where it needs further calibration. Adjustments are made based on that data, not on general impressions.

Our commitment

Your existing inspection process is protected throughout

The image-based layer operates alongside your manual check for the full trial period. Nothing changes about your current inspection process during that time. If the results at the end of the trial don't meet the targets we agreed at the outset, we keep working until they do — or we explain clearly why the configuration cannot reach those targets with the current product and discuss what options remain.

We won't recommend moving to a live configuration before the trial results support it. The twelve weeks includes enough time to run a genuine parallel period and adjust based on what it shows.

The initial conversation is open and costs nothing. If your product or defect profile doesn't look like a good fit for image-based checking, we'll say so at that stage rather than after the work has begun.
